    Welcome Sue Ann!

We have all experienced the culture chock of going someplace different. My trek was from DC to San Antonio. There are days when I long for ethnic foods other than Mexican and Chinese, when I want to park in a parking lot with vehicles other than SUV's and huge trucks; when I want the high to be 78 not 98!

Other than that it's been a great learning experience. I have learned that I like San Antonio but don't like Texas!

    Welcome aboard!

    Welcome Sue Ann,

I am Luanne, I am originally from Mississippi and my husband is from Queens. We live in Princeton, NJ now. I too miss some of the southern food, but I have been here for 20 years!!! My husband is a Pulmonologonst/Critical Care and I am an RN. I look forward to getting to know you.

      Hi,

I am just now doing my intro but I have been lurking for a while. My husband is in his third year of med school in Brooklyn. He would llike to do infectious disease/international health. I am a family nurse practitioner in emergency medicine at a very underserved hospital. I like it for the most part but it can be really stressful.

We have no kids but an ongoing debate on when to start. We are from the south (florida/georgia) and miss southern culture/food/weather alot!

I have really enjoyed hearing what everyone has to say so far...

      Thanks,

      Sue Anne

        Hi Sue Anne,

I can tell you that you will find lots of people here grappling with 1) long distance moves; 2) the family planning debate; 3) the challenges of being a medical spouse; and 4) a myriad of other life issues.

You should meet Kris because her hubby just finished an ID fellowship in Florida. Their family experience could provide a wealth of information to you.

Welcome to the group, I look forward to meeting you below.

          Hi Sue Ann!

Your user name intrigues me - I am thinking we could be from the same area. I grew up in Lake City, FL --- know where that is?

          Welcome to the boards!
