Does 32 count as old?
There are definately a few of us old geezers hanging about
My husband finished an ID fellowship a year ago. We did 8 years of residency though because he is a german citizen and of course went to med school and did some of his residency in europe. We had to start all over once we came to the US.
We have three children, 6 toads, 3 frogs (all amphibians have their own names of course) and an australian shephard named "molly".

Welcome Melissa!
It is amazing how much younger 36 gets with each year I pass. Nonetheless, you will find people of all ages and experiences here. Welcome!
How old are your kids? You must be very busy. Several members here have 3 and 4 kid in their brood. The rest of us are just working on building our family!
Enjoy the site!

Welcome-
and I'll be 36 in two more months- but I've only been married for 2 years!
At the risk of repeating myself, as I'm sure you've probably read some of the other introductions, I'm Jenn, spouse to a third year peds resident (who is 35). We're in San Antonio, he's in the Army.
He took the long path to get here- it's pretty funny, some of his classmates were in kindergarten the year I started high school! He enlisted in the Army to get the GI Bill to go to college and then attended Uniformed Services University. Now that he has 12 years in, and we owe seven, we're going to be lifers in military medicine!
Welcome aboard!
Jenn

Hi Melissa! I am 27, have been married for seven years, and have four children with my husband. I may not be in my 30's but I seem to get along fairly well with all of my friends in their mid to late 30s. I think if you are looking for advice and information from those of us married to "nontraditional" medical students you'll find what you need here! Welcome!

WOW!! What responses!! I am sooooo impressed. Thanks everyone. My kids are boy, girl, girl, boy...(10,8,6,4). Yes I am very busy and crazy. We live in Springfield IL. My dh did his residency in Pittsburgh 9 years ago. He went to St Louis University to med school. I went to Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh as well. I have a accounting degree...although I've never used it!!! I hope to have a long relationship online with everyone. Melissa-

I'm not in my 30's yet. I am 26, and Matt (my dh) is an R2 with the UW anesthesia program. We have a 7 1/2 mos old daughter, Emma.
It's good to see that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I am now recommending anesthesia as a residency to all of our med school friends (at least the UW one). It has been awesome!
Welcome!

Hi Melissa,
I think we may have a little bit in common. My husband is just starting his anesthesiology residency, we have four kids and I am also 36. We have been married for 12 years. How old are your kids? We have four boys - 10, 8, 5 and 2.
So, there may be a few of us "oldies" around! Welcome to the board.

Hi Melissa. I am glad to meet you. I am interested in hearing your take on Springfield, IL. My husband did part of his master's work there and would be interested in returning once he completes his neonatology fellowship next June. However, I don't know anything about it. Maybe you can fill me in on it sometime.
By the way, I am another Jennifer, age 32 and a SAHM to an 11 month old daughter. My husband will finish his medical training after this year, finally!
Welcome!

Welcome, Melissa!
I'm Janet, married to a "finished" radiologist. We live in Western Canada and have twin daughters, age three. I'm 41, and you have all made me feel like a dinosaur! Honestly, age is really not that important when you are going through similar experiences. I have friends in their twenties and friends in their fifties. All equally cool people. What is important is the coming together of people going through similar experiences, and the sharing and support we can find here.
Welcome!
Janet
