Maybe I should let one of the admins answer this, but what the heck, right?
The more private forums are set the way they are so that we can feel comfortable sharing more than we do in the public areas. Believe me, there will come a day when you will appreciate this yourself. Stick around, keep posting, let us get to know you, and you'll get there in no time flat. Right now it may seem like it will take forever, but it really won't, and the wait will be worth it in the end.

Medicine is a SUPER small community, even in this huge of a country. Sometimes when we're discussing issues, personally identifiable information comes up and keeping some of the forums "closed" helps maintain the privacy of our members.
It's not personal, at all. We ALL waited before gaining more access.Comment
