  • Thread Dates?

Is anyone else having problems with seeing the most recent threads? I'm not sure if I did something wrong and pressed something bad?

  • #2
I just noticed it this morning when logging into this site. I'm not sure what's going on. I clicked on Art Therapy forum and got an alphabetical list of threads posted there from A-Z. The most recent was lost to me unless I clicked on the direct link when it pops on the side of all the forums page.

I was just going to add that is only seems to be in certain forums like I found it happened in The Art Therapy forum but the Wards seem alright.

Where was it happening to you Curegirl?

Hi Cinderella, it's for every section for me I'm still new so I don't have access to the private forums but the public ones keep showing threads from a long time ago on my computer.

It happened to me in the call room last night - I was getting an alphabetical list as well.

If you look towards the top of the screen, you'll see the column called "Last post by" or something of that nature. If you click on that it will order everything by date and you can see the newest threads then. You might have to click it twice as the first click might list everything from oldest to newest.

Thanks SSM, I tried but the dates are all mixed together? There are threads from 2002 (!) mixed in with 2011, etc. Maybe it's just me and how appropriate for Mercury retrograde!

              Hmm......

Are the older threads stickied to the top with threads from 2012 below them maybe?

Or, can you use the "new posts" button at the top of your screen? At least then you'll see the threads from today.

At the bottom of each forum's message list page is a "sort by" dropdown box; the first option is by message title, and the second is by date. See if maybe that got set wrong?

                    Thank you Sandy, it worked!

Thanks! I didn't know that about the sorting.

I'm new here and confused by the thread sorting.

I went into my "settings" section and figured out how to change it between threaded, unthreaded, and hybrid...which is great... and how to only show threads from the past year, so I'm not getting anything from 2002 popping up....

BUT, most of the forums I go to are sorting the threads from A-Z in ascending order, and I would like them to be by last post time, in descending order. (i.e. newest first). Every time I enter a forum, I manually change it by going to that drop down box that Sandy pointed out, but then when I return to the forum the next time, it's again back to the previous setting (A-Z ascending order). Is there a way to permanently change it to last post time in descending order? i.e. to set that as my default?

I've been wondering about this too -- for most forums, I have to manually sort by date every time I enter to get the most recent posts. It's not that big a deal, but it is a little annoying. Like Liisi said, any way to make that default?

Me too! And I don't think it's possible to change the sorting on the mobile site, which I usually use.
