  • keep rosie or stop rosie?

    http://www.stoprosie.com vs. http://keeprosie.com/

    I totally support her!

Just watch some of the clips on the stoprosie site. She is absolutely right!! She speaks the truth, and it's time we accept it.

What is this country coming to? Finally someone is bringing the sad truth to light, issues that should be addressed, problems in our country that should be fixed instead of spending BILLIONS of dollars overseas.

    It's SICK.

    :soapbox:

Rosie posted this on her official website:

"a huge terrible storm is coming
    a nor easter
the potential hail has bumped imus
    off r top story tonight

i was on the stoprosie site

    - "You know, this President invaded a sovereign nation in defiance of the UN. He is basically a war criminal. Honestly. He should be tried at The Hague."
    - "Don't fear the terrorists. They're mothers and fathers."
    - "Democracy is threatened in a way it hasn't been in 200 years and if America doesn't stand up we're in big trouble."

    correct quotes
    thank you ethan
    well done

and yes i stand by all of them
    however on number 2
i would like the word terrorist
    in quotations

dont fear "TERRORISTS" - they are mothers and fathers

    u see
since terror been used to scare americans
    since 9 11
    terrorists - terrorists - everywhere
all of them - bad guys
terrorists - after us - here and there
    they sold it
    we bought it

we gave away r civil liberties
    fear works

    the 911 terrorists
    most came from saudi arabia
and we invaded 2 other countries
    minor details

    here is the point
    i was trying to make
    to elisabeth
who cant see any of "them"
    as anything but terrorists

    hundreds of thousands of humans
    not "terrorists"
    iraqi mothers and fathers
    have been killed by US

    those innocent ones
    the mothers and fathers
    they r not "terrorists"

try to paint with a huge brush
    a big mess

    borderlines everywhere

    the media has demonized arabs
the facts about the death toll on all sides
    is sickening and under reported

    i am against this war
    i support all the troops
    i want them home

i have decided that from now on
i will talk about other things
    on the view

like y thousands still live in renaissance village
    18 months after katrina

or that 28 million american children live in dire poverty

that 1/2 of all black and hispanic kids in america
do not graduate from high school

    1 in 150 autistic = EPIDEMIC

half a million children r in foster care
    they r lost
    the system is broken

from now on i will not raise my voice
    about this criminal administration
i am sick of screaming IMPEACH

    unreal
from now on i will say
    unreal
    ok
    just know on the inside
    i will be yelling

    unreal
i am registering as an independent
cause i am sick of both sides
    cowardly silence

    as democracy dies

    finally a blog
    no pray
    no play"

    I think Rosie...popped a neuron or something...

    But...

I support her right to her opinions and to say them on television. She represents a viewpoint that is shared by many. I think she's a bit extreme...and I don't really like how she says certain things, but I still like her and respect her right to say what she thinks.

    Freedom of Speech and all.

If we fire Rosie, then we need to get rid of Ann Coulter (never let her come on TV again), Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh (OMG, what a FREAK!)...and please...for the love of all that is holy, can we get rid of Bush too while we're at it!

I was fine ignoring Rosie until she started saying that our country was behind 9-11, that the buildings couldn't have come down on their own just because of a jet plane, that the buildings had explosives in them, that 9-11 was a farce and not terrorists.

THAT is just irresponsible reporting. She can go and on and on about her other topics as much as she wants, its a talk show, just like talk radio if you don't like it don't listent to it.

But saying 9-11 was an inside job is unacceptable IMO.

I love Rosie. I actually try to tune into the View @ 11AM to catch the "hot topics", which I never, EVER did before. I hated that show before Rosie came on. I think they need a stronger "right" viewpoint. Elisabeth has her beliefs, but isn't really able to back them up.

I haven't heard her '9 11 was an inside job' theory. I looked it up on Wikipedia, and it seems she claims building 7 was brought down w/explosives to hide evidence of the Enron/World Com scandals. She's not saying the towers / attacks were an inside job. Apparently her issue is that a simple fire wouldn't have gotten hot enough to melt steel in building 7. Towers 1 & 2 had planes hit them, and 1000's of gallons of jet fuel to create the level of heat required to melt steel. From Wikipedia:
On March 30, 2007 Popular Mechanics magazine posted a point-by-point response to O'Donnell's claims on its website, which included a scientific correction to O'Donnell's statement about steel and fire: Tower 7 housed the city's emergency command center, so there were a number of fuel tanks located throughout the building—including two 6000-gallon tanks in the basement that fed some generators in the building by pressurized lines. The working hypothesis is that this pressurized line was supplying fuel to the fire for a long period of time. Steel melts at about 2,750 degrees Fahrenheit—but it loses strength at temperatures as low as 400 F. When temperatures break 1000 degrees Fahrenheit, steel loses nearly 50 percent of its strength. It is unknown what temperatures were reached inside WTC7, but fires in the building raged for seven hours before the collapse.[40]

O'Donnell responded to the Popular Mechanics article on her blog, stating, "read the whole thing i still believe explosives were used to bring down wtc7".[41]
I do agree w/most of what she says politically (not about the WTC stuff). Especially about this government ruling with fear. Either way, as with Imus, there are lots of people out there spewing hate and defaming entire populations on a daily basis. I didn't think Imus should be fired - and I certainly don't think Rosie should be. Let the marketplace determine.

But she's not reporting, Cheri...she's on a show called "The View" which is supposed to be hosted by 4 women with 4 vastly diff. points of view.

Why can't she say that the US was behind it when Bush can keep vomiting up that there were links between Al Queada and Saddam and that Saddam had WMD and mobile biological units, blah, blah, blah?

I think you should watch this documentary, it's called Loose Change. It's all about 9/11 and how things just did not add up.

For example, authorities couldn't find the indestructable black box from the plane but somehow found the terrorist's tiny passport lying among the ruins.

Eyewitness accounts and video footage shows timed explosions coming from inside the towers, the kind of explosions they use when they implode skyrises.

              etc.

I think you should watch this video!
              http://www.loosechange911.com/

"The central premise of Loose Change is that the United States Government was, at the very least, criminally negligent in allowing the attacks of September 11th, 2001 to occur.

However, when one looks deeper into the evidence, one might come to the startling conclusion that our own government might have been directly responsible for the attacks themselves."

Ummm, I find Rosie annoying sometimes, but I think it's pretty scary to think that we (North Amercians) will start firing people because they don't share our opinions!

I have also noticed a HUGE difference in the news coverage of the American stations vs Canadians...(please don't anyone throw anything at me, just an observation) mainly on items like the war, the leader of our countries etc.

                  What are these differences?

Maybe it's apathy (which I don't consider a good thing) but here no one really cares how stupid you call the PM or what you say about the govt's decisions. People still have opinions, but I don't think that it would spark any kind of major debate. We have a lot more access to our leaders as well (granted, none of them have ever been assinated)

The other thing I notice is that the US media coverage seems dramatized. (keep in mind that I have to base this on local stations in Maine and Boston and FOX) The daily war coverage almost seems less harsh from the US networks too. ( I suppose it's "safe" for us to critize the US coverage as we aren't in Iraq, easy to throw stones and all that)

Actually, I think maybe it's time to learn how to have a civil debate again. I know that most of the old-timers in Congress have said that they used to be able to actually talk, have dinner, see each other socially, etc with their colleagues from across the aisle.

Rosie is paid to be outrageous. Barbara Walters is not a stupid woman- after Star Reynold-Jones left they needed another person with galvanizing opinions.

Conspiracy theories at this point are irrelevent. and theres no way anyone will ever prove anything differently so it seems kind of silly for her to bring it up. Good God, they're still analyzing Abraham Lincoln's asassination (seriously just a few years ago they wanted to see if the wrong people were convicted)

I'm not saying that Rosie is harmless, either. I think that unfortunately there is a large element of our society who take what they hear on TV as verbatim- without questioning sources or background. It's kind of like believing the Weekly World News sometimes.
