  • Predictions for tomorrow?

I think Clinton will take OH by a slight margin and Obama will take TX....

I have no idea how the other states will fall...but I think after tomorrow that Clinton will probably bow out.

    Anyone with other predictions?

All I know is I will have my popcorn, water and laundry waiting for the numbers to come in (Tuesday night is reserved for folding!).

I have no idea how things will turn out.

      Re: Predictions for tomorrow?

I can tell you that both the Clinton camps and the Obama camps are really energized here.

Everyone is making sure that EVERYONE knows that it's not just the vote in the day, but the caucus in the evenings, too. (only TX could be this screwed up)

Even the early voters had to pick up proof that they did the early vote so that they can caucus. (only people who have voted can caucus.)

Nikolai and I will be voting tomorrow during the day and then returning to caucus in the evening. I'll take the camera.

Ummm...What? So voting doesnt count? you have to vote to...caucus? I guess I better call my mom and tell her. Hey...maybe my DAD doesn't know this little fact! I'll keep it a secret until Wed. and then ask him how the caucus part was. :>

Clinton takes both, by small margins.

ETA: they're kind of freaking out because both parties are supposed to caucus at the same sites and they're afraid that they're going to run out of room. At least it won't be terrible weather like some other states have had.

              Re: Predictions for tomorrow?

I have had 3 calls from the Clinton campaign today asking for my vote. None from Obama.

                Re: Predictions for tomorrow?

MoveOn called last night to make sure that we were aware of the caucus thing.

My neighborhood is close to 90% Dem so I expect pretty big lines tomorrow. I'm planning on leaving work early and getting Nikolai so that maybe we can avoid the after work crowd.

It's funny, it's brought out a lot of the neighbors.

                  Re: Predictions for tomorrow?

I'm thinking Obama might surprise folks in Ohio. I've only seen Obama signs - and the hard press is definitely on here. Daily full page ads (the kind that read like pamphlets) explaining Obama's positions in detail have appeared in the Plain Dealer. Today, there were two - one devoted to foreign policy and the other to trade. On my street, we've had six Obama yard signs go up in the last week. No Hillary signs here. Of course, we're a mostly Republican town. That said, the columns in the paper have leaned towards Hillary. I'm not sure who got the official nod.

                  I'll be watching too!!

                    Re: Predictions for tomorrow?

                    Yeah, there's THAT little wrinkle.

The newpaper was saying way back in January that even if the Latino vote in the Valley and most of South Texas turned out in force this year, they're still going to get the delegates based on previous years voter turn-out.

It's nutty here, and both camps have lawyers at the ready because it's going to be so insane tomorrow. Oh, and in San Antonio, at least half of the polling sites don't have a designated person to be responsible for the 'important packet of papers' for the caucus so the rules say that the first person at the door is to ask for it and they become the defacto precinct captain.

                      Re: Predictions for tomorrow?

When we flew out of Texas Friday night both Obama AND Clinton were flying into that airport. Everyone was really excited and there was lots of joking of a big "catfight" between the two on the tarmac. I don't think that happened.

One of the plane engines also caught fire that night (not Clinton's or Obama's - but it was still exciting - lots of adrenalin among people in the terminal).

I was thinking the same thing, Angie. I have seen one Hillary sign, one McCain sign (on my street ), and about 20 Obama signs.

                          Re: Predictions for tomorrow?

Crazy lines today- I was with the retired/elderly Latino today and they were 100% behind Hillary. In fact while I was there, a woman was on the phone with her daughter, telling her where she needed to go to vote (which is different than normal) and she said, "and you need to vote for Hillary and Ciro and Chico..." and then she swore at her daughter in Spanish and hung up on her. The man behind me said, "she's voting for Obama, isn't she?" and the woman said yes. I think it's going to split right along the age line, with people in their 30s and 40s being the ones to decide.

That's what I think too. I think the Obama/Clinton division speaks to a generational difference. (It speaks to many other things, but Boomer v. X-er is definitely one! )

My mom just called me from TX to let me know that she had voted....and she was practically euphoric over it.

The big suprise? She voted for Clinton after all! She was really pumped up about it. I have no idea how she got from Obama to Clinton over the last couple of weeks...but I did encourage her to go caucus tonight too.
