Re: for the Clintonites
oh, I still LOVE my Hill. but I think Obama can take McCain and there are way too many people who viscerally hate her. If she wins, my #1 fear (and three aging Supremes...) are 4 more years of a Republican.
I used to really like McCain. But depending on whether he panders to the uber conservative, we have to face the fact that he or his VP may be picking three new Justices. Scary f-ing sheeat, man.
It's politics, it's not personal.

Re: for the Clintonites
Well, I agree with you about McCain....I think he should have passed on the endorsement by Bush...
You know what they say...the dems like to fall in love with their candidates and the republicans like to line up behind them.
We're all just in an extended falling in love thing...one of our candidates will fall down...we'll all dust ourselves back up and those of us who have lost will start trying to find the love with the one left standing....

This article isn't very good in its legal analysis regarding how, exactly, Limbaugh could be charged. It seems really slanted, with not much substance on that issue (which is fine for editorializing and may play well if you're preaching to a receptive choir that would love to hear that message, but is not very helpful for real, substantive analysis). Personally, I would be interested in reading a less biased article that lays out an actual legal argument for charging Limbaugh (I don't know much about federal election law--maybe there is a ground to charge Limbaugh on, but it just wasn't competently addressed in this article).
My thoughts, by the way, are not an endorsement of Limbaugh's actions. From the beginning, I went on record here saying this was a bad idea. If not illegal (which, in Ohio, unlike in Texas, it apparently may have been), it is certainly poor sportsmanship. Let the Dems pick who they want to run.
Based on what I read in this article, I don't think it's any more likely that Limbaugh would be charged with a crime than it is that Obama's preacher's church is at risk of losing its tax exempt status for its preacher improperly endorsing a candidate from the pulpit. Neither man acted admirably in skirting the law, but neither will suffer any repercussions. But both Obama and McCain should make clear that they do not endorse their respective supporter's behavior. I mean, they are running for the position of the leader of the Executive Branch of the Federal government...the branch charged with enforcing laws...
