    Is Obama still a smoker?

    remember hearing he was trying to quit back in January...

    I 'think' he successfully quit. or at the minimum limits it to furtive smokes in the limo where his wife won't bust him for it. I can't imagine trying to quit and do everything else. Hell- I was a total social work slacker and it took 8 tries for me to quit.

      They had a story about it a couple of weeks ago. I guess he's back to smoking now. He says he's quit "several times" but has been chewing a lot of nicarette on the trail-- he smokes when he's in hotels or out of public's eye. At least he admitted to it! I think the stress of this whole thing--- I just can not even imagine...

      It's really a non-issue to me. If he wants to smoke, OK, that's fine. It won't change my mind about (not) voting for him.

        Of all the bad habits I'd worry about in a Presidential candidate, this is WAY low on my list of stuff I care about. Does he commit adultery with a nearly underaged staff intern in the middle of a national crisis? Does he bald-face lie to the American public and claim that, despite an Ivy league education he doesn't know the definition of basic English verbs? Does he commit perjury? No. Then puff away...because what you're putting into and blowing out of your mouth by smoking is completely tolerable by comparison. He doesn't lie about his addiction or blame other people, and he has struggled to quit. Hard for anyone to be too judgmental about that without being a complete hypocrit.

        I mean, it's kind of ironic that health care reform is a major issue for him (considering one of the most complicating factors in health care is smoking), but it could be worse...he also could be obese.

          I used to hold my breath watching Hastert waddle to the Secret Service vehicles every morning. "come on dude, DON'T code today- I have to get to the airport"
