    I believe the standard libertarian line is that govt is there to protect us from each other and from foreign agressors. So police and army would be essential services....pbs would not.
    In a perfect world, I'm all for the libertarians. In our current situation, I think it's a good thing to strive toward, to hold up as a model, but I'd never vote for them.
    On the other hand, there's really nobody I would for this time around. :|

      Why shouldn't it be the responsibility of the federal government? What would you argue are the purposes of government?

      I think Fluffhead summed it up pretty well in the first part of his post. And, since I lean libertarian what he said applies to me fairly well. Although, I agree with him that realism requires us to strive for the libertarian ideal while realizing we will fall short of it in the short term.
