I don't care how hard the moderator tries, he's not going to get them to talk to each other.

Re: Who's watching the debate?
Originally posted by moonlightIt's on at our house. Kinda boring so far.
I have to give McCain credit for being awake, though. I mean, the guy has to be functioning on severe sleep deprivation after the past couple of days...

I am.
So far, I think they are both very interesting.
I don't like their ties....McCain's in particular looks like a candy cane...Obama's has this checker/red thing that bugs my eyes.

Re: Who's watching the debate?
There is significant rambling. I wish that the moderator would rein them in a bit more. It is so obvious when they hit on the talking points of the campaign. It's kind of like clumsy product placement.Angie

I'm listening because McCain's 'smile' was sending me over the edge. So, I've got Chris Cilizza's (the fix on the Post's website) feed, the livenation feed and the MSNBC fact checker going all at the same time.
I am cracking up on some of the commentary that are streaming in.

Scrolling across the bottom of the screen is the audience's reactions minute to minute - pushing buttons I guess?
I do think whomever did Obama's makeup did a bad job. He shouldn't use that person again - he looks sickly.
I didn't notice their ties till I read this thread. Yeah - both are distracting and weird.
This is the dullest debate for me as well. Snore.
What annoyed me is that so few Americans approve of a bailout and the moderator acted like it was a forgone conclusion that the bailout was correct. Notice he didn't ask them "IF" they support a bailout. He just asked them what KIND of bailout they support. The audience reaction was almost nonexistent through that entire opening series of questions.Who uses a machete to cut through red tape
