Re: Wow....the DOW is UP
I know! And I didn't buy anything yet!
Of course.....the "experts" are still saying that this is market psychology (renewed confidence). That's good, but the underlying credit market is still in a nasty place. (LIBOR and TED spread) It's better....but still not good. This market sure is a page turner. I'm hooked. Let's see what happens tomorrow. I have read that this is a big week. Lots of reports due in from major market players. (Reading about reports in the market always reminds me of the frozen orange juice futures in Trading Places. Everything hinges on those reports! )
I've got some recommendations from others for alternative energy stocks (mostly conglomerates with good liquidity). Anyone want to play market forecaster for me? Someone out there must know something!!!Angie

Re: Wow....the DOW is UP
I forgot about Trading Places until now!
It does sound like a big week. I'm glad the freefall stopped on the Dow though as you said it isn't the whole story. It is a tangible number I can see on my Yahoo page though and it is better than red, red, red.
I'm sure there are more buy recommendations at Motley Fool than you can shake a stick at. Maybe some boring old index funds or exchange traded funds are the way to go (IVW, IVE, SPY). If they tank, don't blame me!
