By the way, so that no one mistakes me for all doom-and-gloom, I think that if Obama goes a little more centrist and a little less left in his approach, he'll see a lot more success in terms of getting the economy recovered. I think the economy is really "his victory to lose." Things WILL turn around--the economy is bigger than one man and his policies (in America, anyway--as versus as in Cuba or Venezuela). And he will be able to claim that this turnaround is "due" to his policies, regardless of whether it actually was or not. The issue is how much can his policies promote a BIGGER and FASTER turnaround. Just a little more centrist and he'll get much bigger returns, without even having to compromise that much.
