Between the 2 defintely cat person. Not nearly as needy and much cleaner IMO.

I will qualify this by saying that at the moment we only have 2 slider turtles from Miami at the moment.

    I'm all about low maitenance!

          I think dogs are stinky.
Although I LOVE me some puppies. But unfortunately they don't stay puppy forever.
I have two cats. They are sttrange animals but I love 'em. Agree with being cleaner and far less maintenance!

I used to like cats, and then one tried to destroy my house by revenge-peeing all over.

I had fond memories of dogs from my childhood (and I actually do like ours), but I've now realized that I'm not so much a pet person anymore.

Really??? This is where the real debate will start.

I really think the reason why I am a dog vs cat is because my mom always felt that cats were not as clean (sort of speak). I specifically remember her telling me that I could not have a cat because she did not want it getting on our kitchen and other counters and having a poo & pee box (her words) in the house.

I really, really don't like dogs and hate it when they bother me at people's houses. But I love my two cats!

                  Can I be both?

I have two ginormous cats that act like...dogs.

But think about what dogs (haha I just wrote doctors before I erased it and put dogs) are traipsing through outside in too? Lots of gross things, other dogs poop & pee... yucko. And then they get wet and stink even more lol

I am a bit of a clean-a-holic with my cats. They are very good about not going on the counters (at least when I am around) because I taught them young, and I LOVE Lysol wipes, doing that frequently. I have hardwood floor and they get washed with Mr. Clean once a day so that I feel better about the cleanliness of the kitty's.

                    Just me though.

I am a germ-a-phobe (yes, DH is an ID doc). My dogs don't step on any poop... As far as the mud (if it is raining), they get their paws wiped when they come in the house. They get baths every other week (have to for animal assisted therapy). The poop is scooped up by Poop Tech (my dawkter's wife splurge). So overall they seem pretty clean to me.

                        Neither!

But my husband is a cat person and he has converted our daughter. (No fair!) I think we'll own a cat in a few years, but not until we own a house.

CAT. Through and through - but I got a fab dog two years ago, she's my baby, so I'm a dog person just for her. Still dig cats better overall.

I pretty much grew up in a zoo... Throughout my childhood, we had dogs, cats, horses, cows, rabbits, chickens, fish, birds, hampsters, mice, a donkey, a hedgehog, a pig, a goat, and a lamb. So I can honestly say I don't have a preference, as long as there are critters around!

DH, not so much. We've had cats so far, since up until last year we only lived in apartments, and we didn't want a dog without having a yard. I think that when we're done having babies and our kid(s) are in school, I can probably talk him into getting a dog.

Me too! I have one turtle. She's pretty big and messy though. She started making weird noises that almost sound like a dog barking though!

I love dogs, they are so fun! I really want to get a dog. We are living in an apartment now so I don't know. Does anyone here have dogs in an apartment? How is it?

I like to walk to the dog beach by my apartment and watch all the cute dogs play
