Diggity - That would be the latter...

I would have been a HP übergeek had the series been released inthe 80's..I had to settle for Tolkein, Heinlein, and McCaffrey..et.al...

No insult intended...possibly implied, but not intended....in fact all sci-fi, pulpy or otherwise made me the well-adjusted, outward thinking, smartass nutbag I am today

You can insult Heinlein all you want. In fact, all three that you named are fair game, for various reasons. You start insulting LeGuin, though, and we'll have to have words.

Heh. I knew I liked you for a reason.

Is it sad that my 13 y/o daughter is more into Monty Python and Douglas Adams than the Twilight series? A friend of hers insisted that she just had to get it from the library. She only read about half of it before seriously rethinking the choice.

Oh I am so happy people are posting on this thread!!! Yes, Jacob was too forceful. Even though Edward seems kind of controlling, I like his over-protective nature because it seems to come from a good place (not selfishness like Jacob). I asked DF one day (by text) if he'd be my Edward Cullen and he replied saying, "what is wrong with you?" Hehehe

I'm excited about New Moon the movie coming out! It comes out the 11/20 I think...the same day I'm planning on going to see DF at one of his aways. I'm embarrassed to say the thought of postponing the trip crossed my mind, only for a millisecond.

What is everyone's favorite Twilight book? I think I liked New Moon best.

Funny - New Moon was my least favorite. My faves are Twilight and Breaking Dawn.

I'm sorry...are we talking about architecture here? If so, I lean more Edwardian than Jacobean. Seriously...what on earth are you guys talking about?

OK, I'll sit this one out. Sounds like I am unqualified to render an opinion and...I should avoid becoming knowledgable, lest I get sucked in...

I'll be the lone dissenter - Jacob. No stone cold lips for me, thank you very much.

Twilight was the best of the series IMHO. I didn't really care for New Moon and I thought the birth scene in Breaking Dawn was a little over the top even for a vampire series.

And on another Twilight note, I was working in the school library and two of the girls in my son's FOURTH grade class told me they didn't need to check out any books because the were reading Twilight. WTH?
