  • Public restrooms - do you cover the toilet?

So when doing your biz - do you cover the toilet seat with t-pee? Is it disgusting not to? Or do you do so, depending on the condition of the bathroom? Are you brave enough to answer the question???

I do so when the condition of the bathroom screams - cover me. Otherwise I take my chances, A.A.P. says your mouth is dirtier and more probable of spreading germs to others (coughing, etc). So ... that's my ammo why it's not inherently wrong... Also sometimes I wipe it down with anti bacterial wipes. Airport and hospital bathrooms - ALWAYS.

I almost always cover the toilet, unless it's an *emergency*. Logically, I know that my chances are higher for catching something from the sink or the door, but if I have the time, I usually cover the seat.

cover cover cover... I can wash my hand after, but I can't immediately wash my bum... .I mean I could... but it would be highly inappropriate and probably scare people. But otherwise I just go around all day feeling gross and dirty.

I hover pee. It's like doing a chair sit, so it's a good chance to work the quads at the same time.

            LOL

Clearly, the hover pee people need to make a choice. I mean...you're either FOR toilet seats or against them. This is America. If you don't support the toilet seats, you should move to Canada ... or France!

If it's really scary, hoverpee and flush with my foot.
If it's not -- toilet seat covers. Most places in CA have them everywhere.
Additionally, I carry hand sanitizer in my purse because sometimes facilities are just so gross and there's no soap.

After spending six weeks offshore in Mumbai, I can say that I am not too concerned about germs if the seat looks relatively clean after a brief wipedown...that being said, if the area looks like it could use a firehose, I'm holding it til the next opportunity..be it porcelain or tree...

To get really blunt, I always check for spray, but I seem to be incredibly gifted with aim and precision.

                      ...

                      Sorry if that was TMI

If it looks clean, I take my chances. I always do the foot flush. When I take my youngest DD to a public toilet I make her sit side-saddle to avoid that disgusting, open mid-section where there is no seat.

I LOVE the toilets at O'Hare. They have plastic already on them - you just have to push a button to rotate!

They have the same at Burlington, VT airport. It's great!

I'm more concerned about touching the door handles etc. and the germs that get on my hands where they can actually spread elsewhere. I don't go anywhere without my hand sanitizer.
