I'm so very late here, but I wanted to add two things.

    1. Costco's return policy is RIDICULOUSLY good. I actually witnessed a man returning wilted potted plants. The customer service lady joked that he should try watering them, but they refunded him anyway. My jaw dropped.

    2. I can't emphasize enough that you should never assume that things are cheaper at Costco than at the grocery store. Some people here have mentioned fruit being cheaper, but I lost track of how many times I've seen the same exact size Driscoll strawberry package that the local grocery store sells for far less. I'm mentioning those specifically just so there's no argument over quality.

Other than that, I love Costco for its lower prices on milk, sliced and shredded cheese, lettuce, and bread. I also like their spinach ravioli, frozen berries, salsa, olive oil, flour, dried beans, rice, Kirkland tortilla strips, Kirkland cat food (if you read the ingredient list, you’ll see that it’s actually better than many of the cat foods you’ll find in a pet store), and salmon burgers. Surprisingly enough, at least based on the lists of things others have mentioned, I don't find the personal care items, cleaning products, detergents, or paper products to be a good deal compared to other places.

All I have to say is I wish we had Costco. We have a Sam's with in dirving distance but I don't think I"m saving much money there.

I just spent entirely too much at Costco (we just got a membership). Ofcourse I ended up finding several things I didn't have on my list! Ooops! I think I'm going to have to limit how often I go there!

I have to do the same thing at Sam's Club. I always take a list and NEVER stray from it. If not, I'd end up with $600 worth of toilet paper.

Can I just say that I love being in the city where I've got the flagship Nordy's, Costco, and Starbucks? . The nice thing is that we are the test market for the new products, so we see a lot of fun stuff. *brag*

                    Do the Puyallup!!!
Yeah, but it's starting to get iffy with the weather. Today's nice, but the months of dreary days are just around the corner.

I'm only allowed one unsupervised visit to Costco per month. All other visits must be supervised.

And I've already gone on and on about their Organic Peanut Butter. Plus, they do make an effort to carry local items. Our local coffee Roasteriee brand is carried there -- just in a bigger bag w/a great price. LOVE them.
Okay so I bought some veggie burgers today and they are okay, but not what I was expecting, and not really good enough to be 170 calories... but that is my fault for not reading the label IN the store.. part of me is debating "returning" them but I've never returned food before and that seems a little too much, but I am torn because they weren't cheap. Unfortunately I don't think DH will eat them either.

I don't think I'd return an open food product just b/c I don't like it, but they might take it back. I know Trader Joes does - but their return policy specifically says "We tried it. We loved it. If you don't love it, bring it back."

That's what I was thinking... its not like they can resell it.

No, but they can return it to the manufacturer as spoiled or unsellable. And who knows, maybe it was spoiled and that's why it tasted weird. Which brand are they?
