While ITA that $250,000 is a LOT of money, it starts looking a lot more like $160,000 when 3,000/month in student loan debt. Clearly $16,000 is upper middle class almost everywhere, but it is not wealthy either.

I'm thinking our high school teachers didn't get paid enough for the amount of money some of them spent for their therapy sessions. We'd make our teachers cry on a pretty regular basis. Ask N if he remembers, Alison.married to an anesthesia attending

My mother is in chronic pain and had to have surgery on her foot because a student threw a desk and it hit her foot ( she will be working this summer BTW). I was called a bitch more than once by my students to my face. I was threatened with the possibility of losing my job if I did not change a student's well deserved grade. Teachers will always have my well deserved sympathy, especially those on the lower end of the pay scale.Last edited by Chrisada; 02-19-2011, 09:27 PM.

We made our teacher cry numerous times. At one point she has left the room to talk to a classmate in the hall, and we switched out our tape we were watching for porno, she was mortified when she came back into the class.... We were evil, as I assume most high school kids are.

I think we were extremely bored in school. I didn't lash out, but it was entertaining to watch kids bring teachers to their knees. I'm not going to lie. Some of it was cruel, but some teachers took themselves way too seriously, had no semblance of a lesson plan, or what to with behavior issues, and were easy targets.married to an anesthesia attending

One paragraph:
The median gross income among internal medicine physicians is $205,441.7 The median gross income among high school teachers, including the value of benefits but excluding their pension, is about $50,000 per year.10 Accounting for time spent training, student loan debt, years worked, hours worked per year and disproportionate income taxes – the net adjusted hourly wage of an internist is $34.46 per hour, while that of a high school teacher is $30.47 per hour.* Though the gross income of an internal medicine physician is 4 times that of a high school teacher, the adjusted net hourly wage of an internal medicine physician is only 1.13 times that of a high school teacher.* Most people would argue that high school teachers are not paid enough, yet for some reason most people would also argue that physicians are paid too much.
