Perhaps there were extenuating circumstances with the boyfriends parents. Also, he was a legal adult, right? So as far as the school's obligation, or even authority to inform, the parents didn't really come into play.

Teen Fakes Pregnancy...

I just don't understand why she let the people aware of the plan that she did. What sphere was she studying? If she wanted to see how her "pregnancy" would be perceived in the school environment, she should not have informed the principal and super. That way she could see how the school administration, teachers, counselors, etc. handle it and how/if they influence the students' interactions regarding it. By informing them, she could not have had an accurate look at the school environment.
As for the families, again, who is her focus group? The BF's parents and her sibs would have been mighty confused if her parents seemed unconcerned and they were fretting about it.Wife and #1 Fan of Attending Adult & Geriatric Psychiatrist.

That Happened to me
When I was a junior in high school a girl on my bus got "pregnant". We didn't go to the same high school because our bus took us to a transfer station where we all switched to our own school's bus. At one point she told me that her parents were kicking her out because of the baby and I did a lot of research finding different places that could help her. We had never really been friends before but I felt like she needed someone so I reached out to her. She stopped riding the bus for a while and a couple months later I asked her friend how she and the baby were and got laughed at. She said the pregnancy wasn't real, it was an experiment for her psychology class and she choose the bus as the place she'd do it. I felt foolish and embarrassed, like i had been conned so I feel for this girl's classmates, especially the boyfriend's family.
