Is it just me or does 50% seem a bit crazy?

I think the proposed cuts are not the way to save money. Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement rates are already abysmal with a ridiculous number of hoops to jump through to get anything done.

Docking a physicians reimbursement rate based on e-prescribing works if you write scripts for something other than narcotics. As Vanquisher will vouch, that leaves precious few scripts to be written for an orthopedist. These sort of things really need to specialty dependent. How in the world does a radiologist write scripts for anything? Should they be docked because their practice does not allow for it?

Sometimes I feel like they propose these cuts just so the AMA can fend them off and say to their members, "look at what a good job we're doing!"
