However, if he was considered a mandatory reporter I would think they absolutely could fire him for not going to DCFS or the police.
It's my understanding that coaches are NOT mandatory reporters. Maybe it also has to do with the fact that he was a grad student at the time of the incident?

This. So he made sure he stopped THAT PARTICULAR INCIDENT. What, no follow-through? You wouldn't report him to the police?! Wonder just why in hell the perv is still working there? They all disgust me.

I guess that's the thing that really confuses me about the whole thing. They showed MASSIVE lapses in judgment by not reporting this to authorities but the fact that they all went to work with the scumbag for several YEARS longer? Could you EVER look someone in the face again after you saw them forcibly rape a child? That's what I don't get. I'm not excusing the not going to the police but it's unfathomable to me that they continued to work with this guy, etc.

I guess that would make the holiday family party a bit awkward, eh?

              So. Angry.
First of all, you know what you do to pedophiles who call in to your live show, Bob Costas? You hang up on them and give NO attention whatsoever.

Secondly, the defense attorney? Creepy McCreeperton himself.

Third, knowing that your dad told a news anchor on national television that he openly trusts a known pedophile to be alone with you? Skeevy and unacceptable.

              I love Jon Stewart.

Did you see that Sandusky's attorney fathered a child with a gal who was 16 when he was in his 40s? Pervs of a feather...

The judge presiding over the bail hearing has recused herself. Turns out, the Sandusky charity donated to her re-elected. I can only assume that she didn't know that at the time she presided. That's WAY different that her volunteering for the charity. If Sandusky is closely tied to the charity (which he is), and he charity is a supporter of hers, she can't preside.

Why that freak dragged the witnesses, his wife (who seems positively complicit), his family, and his University through that hell is absolutely beyond me, other than purely out of delusion. Some of his interview comments suggest that he genuinely believes that his victims owe him something, because he "loved" them. His defense counsel did a truly bad job, even with these truly bad facts.

                        I hope he rots.
