Oh gross. That must take some self-restraint on your part.

Our Target, Marshall's, TJ Maxx and Meijer only have one dressing room area for everyone. I've honestly never seen a man in a dressing room. I have however encountered two women having sex or pretty damn close to it in the Macy's dressing room. I was told this happens a lot there by the manager.

If HE is a transgendered MAN, he's probably in men's clothes, unless he's cross dressing or choosing to present as a woman to "blend in".

I just don't get the big deal. Sexuality and sexual identity is a continuum, not an either/or issue.

            This.

I don't see why a transgendered person would be any more likely to be a pervert, a pedophile, or a rapist. Even if they haven't had the surgery yet and are still technically men, how are they any more dangerous than the women already using those dressing rooms? People sexually abuse people of the same gender all the time.

I didn't say they are more likely. I don't think they are. I think allowing cross-dressers (not transgendered who are now have female parts) opens the door to pervs posing as cross-dressers to gain access. We see some sickos everywhere. Heck, before my kids came along, we had a guy dressed as a woman approaching children who were going to the restroom during Mass. New rules were put in place where kids had to be accompanied to the restroom or drinking fountain and windows had to be put on all doors except restrooms.

The Macy's in our area have slats on the doors. You can see into the stall if you look closely. They say it's for security reasons to prevent theft.

Might I suggest reciprocating by castrating and setting them on fire with your eyes? Teach your daughters how to as well.

The perverts are already there- having additional access for transgendered women to change in the ladies dressing room just makes it less likely they'll get jacked in the men's changing area. (It was actually a Macy's in San Antonio, I believe.)

Pedophiles don't typically operate in wide open relatively well-lit spaces. They're opportunists, yes but a dressing area in the middle of a store with shoppers, staff AND security cameras is not going to be in the top five places to go. Now, the security guard watching everyone change? Who knows what's going on in those dudes heads.

We had to deal with this issue with a transgendered M2F person at the detox unit. She wasn't finished with the process- and therefore didn't 'quite' belong anywhere. We ultimately decided to give her a referral to a private detox clinic because we couldn't guarantee her safety in either living area.

Statistically speaking, you're far more likely to be sexually assaulted by someone you know. It's just the stranger-on-stranger ones that make the news, even though they're relatively rare.
