The Kardashians push products alongside snowblowers?! Wow--there is some kind of sexual wordplay there, but I just can't quite put my finger on it...

If Vera Wang can do a line for Kohl's then Kardashians can do Sears. The line was polyester crap and very crudely made. I can't believe she put her name on it.

I have a top from that line that lasted 3 years -- cotton and well made, while still being very stylish! And since I bought it on clearance, it was only $7. Vera Wang for us po-folks.

I've frequently used JCP for window coverings. Got to say it was always a pleasurable shopping experience ... probably in part because I was one of the few customers there.

We have a ridiculously limited retail industry here. JCP is one of the more reliable, decent stores. Sadly, our Macy's completely blows. I find myself frequently heading to JCP over other retailers.

I think Ellen is a much more worth spokesperson than any Kardashian, FWIW.

I love JCP for bulk clothing buys for the kids. My oldest is super picky about jeans and shirts not being "fancy", i.e. not any pictures or writing. This is JCP's fortay. I swear GAP needs the Mom of a 12 y.o. boy to tell them what their kids will and will not wear. I like the clothes there, but my 12 y.o. won't touch it.

I like shopping at JCP for bedding for the girls and after looking high and low for the right shower curtain for my bathroom I finally found it at JCP's website.

I also get the $10 off $10 coupons Mrs. K mentioned every now and then. Any store that's willing to give me free stuff I'm a fan of!

DD- Our 2 Macy's both blow too! I've had a $100 GC for Macy's over a year now that I can find a way to spend.

                    This thread cracks me up!

LOVE the JC Penny catalog, it reminds me of the old Sears Christmas catalog of old. I'm such a dork

I worked in the men's department at JCP in college! I have to say I'm amused by this "new" pricing strategy. Back then, I noticed that there was always some type of sale going on for almost everything. One week it would be a reduced price, the next a percentage off, the next a coupon, but... It almost always worked out to be the same price. I remember thinking they should just set the price at whatever it was and save money on the employees who went around reporting signs every week. (Sorry for the idea to eliminate a job!)

I kind of like JCP. They often have the lowest price on Levi's and Carter's, and their store brands seem to be a step up from Kohl's. They're definitely cheaper (and unfortunately often lower quality) than most mall department stores, but that's fine with me for maternity clothes or one-time wear dresses.

I bought all my curtain rods and hold-backs at JC Penney's. I think they have good stuff at decent prices, but I rarely think to shop there. Too bad people see them as Macy's poor cousin, sort of like what KMart is to Target.

I plan to shop there for window coverings, etc. after the move. They always seem to have good quality and selection at good prices for home things. My first couch out of college was from JCPenney. I've shopped there for the kids before and usually find good prices. I like their stores better then Kohl's which I always find dark though they have been remodeling them. I don't like to shop cluttered and the JCPenney in Roch was always cluttered so I hated going in there but I've noticed the one here is not as cluttered. I will shop there and I do feel like they've been trying to upgrade their clothing lines lately.

I got a dress from that line that was really great until it tore right up the skirt. And, Kohl's being Kohl's, they took it back, despite it being like 6 months and a bunch of washes later.

I used to work at Mervyn's, and I felt the same way.

Also, Mervyn's = exhibit A for how NOT to run a discount department store...
