I saw this on a blog and really identified!!

3 WEEKS postpartum?? I was just barely getting off the emotional roller coaster at that point, still felt like I was punched in the nether regions, and still looked 5-6 months pregnant. Kudos to Candice Crawford if she truly wanted to get away for a whole weekend but I sure hope she wasn't pressured.
Married to a newly minted Pediatric Rad, momma to a sweet girl and a bunch of (mostly) cute boy monsters.

You know, I just got to send a little shout out to the folks at 'Bones' who let Emily Deschanel who is postpartum both in the show and off, LOOK POSTPARTUM. It makes me ridiculously happy to remind myself that I wasn't a failure because I didn't look like Beyonce leaving the hospital. :O

ETA: Leaving the hospital... or 6 months pp... or ever.

"Genetics and undergarments." So much word!

Although I am unduly irritated by the author's (and editor's) lapse in allowing the wrong spelling of "undue" into the article. Step it up, Forbes!

It's definitely mostly genetics. I left the hospital within a couple of pounds of my non-pregnancy weight (though definitely still squishy). I worked out my entire pregnancy and ate right so I did take care of myself but I really do think it runs in families - my mom was the same way and I know I'm very lucky. I had the added stress of the whole "no walking" thing post-partum but I doubt it would be that much different. I agree that I did still feel punched in the lady bits though.

If you're a celebrity, it's your job to look good and so I think they really do take maximum care of themselves. Really good care of themselves + genetics = hot post-baby bod.

Also, celebrities can afford to hire people to do absolutely everything for them, including taking care of the baby, so they have time to work out and eat right. But I agree that it's mostly genetics, because physically, you are still recovering and probably nowhere near ready to work out at that time, no matter how much hired help you have!
