It sort of stinks that if you aren't in a swing state, it feels like you don't count.

In kinda meh on the electoral college

I agree and I think this is why we don't have better turnout - there is NO point for me to go vote tomorrow but I'll do it anyway.

So, back to the OP. . . who do you think will win? I heard that question is a better predictor of election outcomes than asking "who did/will you vote for?"

FWIW, my state is going to Romney but I think Obama will win. And my mom is working the poles in SoFla tomorrow. I cannot wait to hear her play-by-play.

I'm supposed to work as a get out the vote volunteer tomorrow. I'm honestly scared at the idea of asking ANY Ohio voter if they've remembered to vote today. How could anyone forget it?? Seems ridiculously overkill but I suppose I'll show up and just make calls anyway. So much fun to be the hated phone call vs. being the phone call recipient. I'm sticking with Nate Silver's predictions. If they were where they were a few weeks back ( more like 60-40 ) I'd not want to call it at all. I think the fact that the Romney people (and Karl Rove) are now talking about Sandy killing momentum is suspicious, though even with people still saying it's a dead heat.

              Angie,
I can bring my license as proof of voter registration, right? H "misplaced" my voter registration card, and he's out of town!

I agree with the comments made that sandy is killing momentum seeming to indicate that the Romney camp thinks Obama will win. Me-- I don't know. I am sick of electoral college and wish they'd go to either straight popular vote or a representative vote type of thing (congressional district voting). I have always voted in Washington state which is firmly blue. Doesn't matter what vote I place-- blue or red or whatever. You can't outweigh king county!

This totally. It's awful. Negative ads daily and random main road (or highway) closures are so much fun every week or two (when they fly in to visit).

Exactly, Peggy. I've never seen campaign signs for anything other than Obama in Seattle. You drive to the Eastside, and it's another story! .

It's a fairly even mix of signs on the east side for this election.

I lived in Ohio during the last election an though NC is still technically a swing state, it's really not and for that I'm thankful.

I think Romney might win. This might seem like weird reasoning but I always think tied polls skew Republican bc there are many older folks that vote that will not be polled and older people (statistically speaking) are more likely to vote Republican. I feel like its easier to poll a younger demographic than an older one. I'm sure that is stupid but I really could see that happening.

Your town split 50-50 in the mock election. Of course it was only 10 6-12th graders who voted, so I don't think that's much of a sample (even if the kids' views mirror their parents'...)

In my state you just need yourself and a signiture. Don't even need an ID. I learned that last week in my training... I'll be at the polls too.

Yes -- I think Driver's License is fine. They don't check usually but I've always had my card -- you have to sign in to the book and all that. I think tomorrow will be more strict and crazy than the last election (mid term, one issue basically)!

I think that used to be the traditional wisdom, but I think it's changed quite a bit. If I has to guess which demographic would be more inclined to answer a call from an unknown number to their landline phone, it would be square on older voters. Also, add to that typical polling behavior that a LOT of elderly have been alarmed by the Ryan budget and frequent GOP comments about changing how Medicare and Social Security should be changed/limited, and I think there could be a significant older voter shift. I was surprised as hell when my very GOP mom, grandfather, and great aunt all decided to not vote for Romney.
