I agree that there were some good points in the essay, but the consistent use of "men" and "young men" vs "girls" really stuck out, to me.Sandy

I do think he's right on about the culture in which men believe that women owe them something, or are a means to an end -- however, I don't think it's anything new, I think it's just an extension of the patriarchal culture of the pre-1960s. This is just the post-sexual-revolution incarnation of the same old bullshit. The answer is NOT more patriarchy, whether in the form of "chivalry" or anything else.
