What is now called the Tea Party was hijacked very early on by neocons. It's a way to try to rope in people with libertarian leanings by using a label which means nothing. As a libertarian Republican who is actually an elected party official the Tea Party label is more of a media thing than a representation of any reality. I meet pretty much all of Vanquisher's criteria on social issues as well. 
As far as I am concerned the government should be severely limited to the point of being unnoticeable in everyday life. I was a huge Ron Paul supporter, I think Romney was a terrible choice for president, and I know a lot of politics and "news" is just for show - bread and circus. I don't care what you do in your bedroom, medical care should be between a doctor and patient, marriage should be a private contract between consenting adults, outlawing substances only helps mobsters and the prison industry, and we shouldn't be an empire forever invading and expanding.
