  • Maylasian Airlines Plane Missing

I'm going to put this in Debates because I think that is where it will end up. What do you think about the two passengers allegedly flying on stolen passports? I'm usually not an alarmist, but this morning I told DH it smells like foul play to me.

The stolen passports and that the plane just dropped out of the sky with no communication sure looks suspicious to me too. I feel just awful for those families. How sad.

My question is: the plane will eventually run out of fuel, right?
Wouldn't someone notice the call numbers on the tail and report it?

How do you hide a plane like that? It blows my mind.

So sad. I'm guessing the plane wasn't really "missing" but rather lost contact when it crashed in the ocean.

The passport thing is wierd. Maybe they were being used to illegally emigrate/immigrate. Then again, the 777 is statistically such a safe aircraft. I hope it wasn't terrorism. Those poor people

There's been several reports of oil slicks in the ocean around where the plane lost contact.

                There's something fishy going on.

Also the spokesman insisting that they didn't lose it from the radar until 2:30 AM (placing it over Vietnam by flight path) but then saying last contact was at 1:20 AM (putting it over the ocean where it appears to have crashed).

I know it's irrational but I HATE planes (says the girl flying on Monday AM).

I'm going to feed into my own paranoia on this topic, do you think it is possible the pilot purposely crashed the plane into the ocean to prevent it from being used as a weapon as in 9/11?

I pondered the same thing to my mom the other night...I hope it was just a tragic accident and the passports are a coincidence.

I thought that they had ruled out at least one of the missing passports as being used for terrorist activity. It sounded like one of the people with the stolen passports was seeking asylum in Germany.

I haven't been following it too closely though, so that may have already been debunked.

The more information we learn, the more bizarre this story becomes. Yes, it sounds like the people with the stolen passports are not suspected to be associated with any terrorist organization. How could a plane change course and fly hundreds of miles without detection? Catastrophic mechanical failure? Terrorists seizing control of the plane? UFO? ;0 So bizarre.

I asked my dad what he thought yesterday (aircraft mechanic). His guess was something mechanical but he didn't know what

The two men were Iranian, one 19 and one 29. According to the 19 year olds mother, he was seeking asylum in Germany.

Prior to being a travel agent my Mom was an airline mechanic with A&P certification. She said a similar Malaysian airline disappeared like this in the past and it also indicated that it had turned around in it's flight path before it lost contact and had a mechanical failure which resulted in it's crash. She said it's at the bottom of a very big ocean and they may never find it.
