We say the pledge before Council and have a moment if silence for the troops. The pledge now makes me uncomfortable because I've become more of a practicing Quaker and have learned that it's not kosher with some.

I'm uncomfortable with the state endorsing a particular belief system through public worship.

I'm a Christian, and I'm also not a fan of public prayer. Even Jesus says not to do it! I don't like the government interfering with my spiritual beliefs, and I am afraid of the course we're on where they are trying to gain more power over us through religion.
