      For atheist families, there's a pretty good discussion of Santa in Parenting Beyond Belief, presented as a point/counterpoint argument. ("Santa is lies" vs. "Santa is good for kids learning to reason this stuff out for themselves.") We're pro-Santa, but this is pretty clearly our last year of it. My youngest basically has it figured out. I'm trying to deflect until after the holidays because she will totally be That Kid blabbing it around preschool no matter what I say to her.
