Why can't medicine have a spokesperson like her to explain why medicine can't be free?

She got Apple to change the way they compensate artists for music on Itunes, I think? Something like that.

Apple is releasing a new streaming mechanism that has a three month free trial period. The problem was - they weren't going to pay royalties for those three months. She utilized social media as a platform to get Apple Music to change their position and artists will now be compensated.

WTF? Seriously? All I'd seen was headlines, didn't know any of the details; did they really think they'd get away with streaming music without paying ANYTHING for it, just because they're not charging anything for it? In what universe does that make any sense?

What aspect, specifically? I'm not seeing the parallel, but it's entirely possible I'm just missing it.

Emergency physicians provide $110,000 per physician annually in free care, with no choice in the matter.

So, who's the culprit? How should it work differently? Presumably, people with no money are going to continue to need health care.

Universal healthcare. Everyone pays into the system at a % of income.

Physician compensation may go down slightly per patient, but when you aren't writing off huge chunks of reimbursement, it balances out.
