Ha! This same thought crossed my mind.

I "threw away" my vote. I told DH that at the end of the day, I have to live with myself and cannot vote based of some strategy to keep someone out.

I feel good about casting my vote for Hillary, and I have no shame about it. I'm proud.

Yep, I read something recently that said that as well. I'm definitely voting for HRC. I also voted for her in the primaries in 2008 and most recently. In my area of TX I am certainly in the minority, my poor middle and high schooler put up with so much political BS from their peers on the daily.

I'm not buying it... The polls I saw saying that had very small sample sizes. But if they don't go Trump, it will be because of third party and write in voting, not votes for Clinton. She won't win here.

I'm also not buying that the race is super tight. I feel like that's the media making a story. I'm not taking any chances but I really don't think it's that tight especially in the blue states where they're making a big deal out of her campaigning.

It's tightening, the aggregate polls prove it, but it's probably for several reasons. Trump is using a teleprompter again, Comey's announcement was deflating (if not incensing), and then as hard as it is to imagine large swaths of the population not caring / paying attention until the end of the race, now they actually have to decide. Nate Silver's newest report puts the current polls almost exactly where they were in 2012, just more volatile.

This news may be skewed. Would love to hear more from others in these areas. However, friends around San Antonio and Killeen (the two areas with large military installations in the state) are saying they are in the minority supporting Clinton. It is tough for me to wrap my head around when the military does not support a future commander in chief. But I suppose we all have had bosses that we do not care much for and still do our job.

The military is a huge reason why either option feels so wrong to me. They feel betrayed over Benghazi and other actions while she was Secretay of State, but Trump has insulted them on multiple occasions and implied that they would be required to follow his orders even if they believe they are unconstitutional. I think the Trump support from the military comes from "yes, he's said those things, but she's actually done them". I have no fears of a coup or anything, but it's so frustrating to know that we're going to put one of these people in control of our soldiers.

The way our country has treated active duty, reservemen, and veterans is appalling.

I'm not surprised that military bases would still in the Trump camp--that demographic was never very Democratic. I mean...it's a crap ton of mostly white men. They may not be as happy about their option as they were in the past, though.

My brother (who was about to be an active duty or reserve officer when his Crohns flared up and disqualified him and also did an internship at the State Dept) cannot stand Trump, but felt very strongly in a negative way about Clinton and her foreign policy approach. He also voted McMullin

Yep, voting for Evan McCullin today. Hubby did so yesterday as he is leaving the country today for a mission trip. I cannot in good conscience vote for the other two. I just can't. Hoping Evan can be that 3rd candidate in the electoral college they can vote in when no one gets a majority.

I don't know about this. Makes me now wonder what are the demographics at military installations because this is not my perception -- I see a lot of ethnic/racial diversity and women. Now 20 years ago when I taught a college course at an air force base, I would have agreed with you since I mostly saw white men. Now, not so much.

I also have a co-worker that worked for the state department. She cannot stand Clinton...and has always identified as democrat. When she says she is not voting for Hillary, I think well, hell...I was counting on her to give me that perspective of Clinton's positive attributes.

My personal opinion is that if either Clinton or Trump get elected, they will be impeached within a year. Clinton for all of the stuff that has come to light and Trump for sexual harrassment. ( I really hope they prosecute and win!).

Clinton can not be impeached for prior acts before being elected.
