I don't understand: we should have done R&D to invest in alternatives years ago.

NYT did have a piece on an approved wind farm off the coast of NY, which gives me some hope.

He's invested in companies that benefit from the pipeline. Enough said.

          Yep.

Speaking of following the money, looking at one of our local credit unions in order to get away from BofA and Wells Fargo.

As a former BofA manager, I applaud your move to a local credit union. Ever since I left the banking industry in 2005, I have banked with small credit unions and couldn't be happier. Try to find one that offers a high yield rate on checking, charges no maintenance fees, and waives other banks ATM fees.

Anybody have suggestions for credit cards with decent perks that aren't with banks that are invested in these pipelines? I like our travel benefits with our current cards, but they're all with chase. At least we pay them off every month, so they ONLY get the transaction fees, no interest, but I'd prefer to move away from the big banks completely if possible.

We love our credit union. We joined when living in the midwest and stayed there after moving to the PNW. We could not find one here with the same benifits. Our interest rate is awesome and they refund all ATM fees too as long as we meet certain requirements.

All I can think of is the poor woman who had to have her arm amputated. I seriously just want to shut my eye and stay inside and not even see what's going on in the world
