What a disaster. The trauma inflicted on these kids and families is just devastating. How is this defensible? I believe the administration manufactured this crisis, but I'm horrified that POTUS supporters can rationalize harming people this way. It's just shameful.

I am beyond horrified. And I'm convinced that the only reason he put a stop to it was because he hates bad publicity. Plus it's not actually a real solution to the problem.

It’s just awful. Awful, awful, awful. I’m generally not an emotional person, but I’ve found myself crying every night this week as I watch the news. That audio recording from ProPublica was heart wrenching.

Last I heard he didn’t really stop it? I guess reunited families are going to jail together?

Overall awful and it’s painful to see and hear and the people on my newsfeed are just horrible!!!

Someone wanted to argue about how his family did it all legal from Russia.... 5 GENERATIONS AGO!!! I lost it. How can you even compare?????

It’s really the only interaction I’ve made about it on my newsfeed.

They're not reuniting families. They're just not separating right away.

Sleeping baby on my and typing one handed, but I think this was manufactured because there was no reason to start separating families to begin with--the administration chose to do so. Then they blamed it all on Dems and claimed it was impossible to fix without congressional action. Then, magically, it's somehow fixable by EO. Trump gets to be the hero, but all he did was revert to an also terrible policy of incarcerating families instead of separating them. He looks productive and the practice of detaining families together seems less bad. The EO has no plan for reunification. Kids are now all over the country, including foster homes. How will these parents get their kids back?!

I think the goal was family detention all along. I've also read some stuff about this being done to increase division amongst voters.

I want to be an engaged citizen and voter, but I cannot read or watch anything having to do with this horrific issue. I know what it’s like to lose a child, and my empathy (and panic/anxiety) for the parents is incredibly overwhelming. I’m contemplating getting rid of FB for awhile to do some self-care.

What monsters we have running this country. No matter where you stand on illegal immigration, whether you want to build a wall or give everyone asylum, nobody should want this for children or for their families. 😢

Well I admit I may be wrong, but I have a patient who was in a camp, and he says he and his father were kept together and his mother and sisters were kept together. Obviously I'm no expert, but I don't doubt someone who lived through it.
