Warren is 3, Klobachar is 5.

Warren is just a slightly less objectionable Sanders. But I’d greatly prefer someone more moderate than both of them.

Sure but we had 4 years since then. I don’t think in 2012, anyone predicted Trump and Obama was hard to replace for the Dems. We’ve known about the horror that is Trump for 4 years and this is the best we’ve got...

I know this sounds horrible but I’m afraid a recession is our only “hope” of getting rid of Trump.

When I think back to Obama's first run I remember people feeling similarly about having to choose between him and his limited experience and Hillary, who was of course just so terrible. The stakes are higher now, but I don't think this feeling of "is this the best we've got"is new, or necessarily predictive of success.

I do wish the field had consolidated sooner. There's a lot of money and ego flying around, and if we didn't have 7 people still dividing up delegates. For example, Amy has to know he chances are exceptionally slim. Why not get out of the race and back Warren if she's so keen on a woman being elected? I also wish Bloomberg would GTFO and just spend his billions on his snazzy anti-trump ads and pumping $ into the DNC.

I hate the primary system. It just feeds the far left/right candidates. I'm so tired of our country swinging from one extreme to the other, though Trump/much of the Democratic field make him look like a moderate at this point. My husband and I both wish we had something more like a parliament. This all or nothing shit is stupid.

However.....most of the independents and Republicans I know are willing to vote for Amy or Bloomberg but not Warren or any other Democrat candidate.

I’ve always considered myself a die-hard Democrat, but I just can’t with Bernie. I’ll probably vote third party, not that it matters since I live in California. I don’t agree with all of Warren’s views, but I’d vote for her because I think she is highly intelligent. I’d actually vote for any of the dems, just not Bernie.

I would kind of be surprised, especially in those under 40. There are more independents than ever in the younger generations, and especially so as each party moves closer to the fringes.

That doesn't necessarily mean those people vote as much as the older diehards, though.

I will have a real hard time casting a vote for Sanders or Warren if they are the nominees. Their brand of socialism has failed time and time again in more homogeneous societies. I don't see how it could possibly work when half the population wants the complete opposite. I actually feel like they're incredibly misleading in promising things they will never be able to achieve.
I know several independents who said they will not vote or vote for Trump just because they find that swing way too far felt.
