I don't know if I can pinpoint my biggest concerns to Iraq, so I guess I would have to say 'foreign policy'.

International relations. I feel like more and more we are on our own in the world. Call me Sally Field, but I am not comfortable in a world with growing resentment towards our country. Iraq, Kyoto, the International Criminal Court.....I don't like the way I'm being represented as an American in these situations. Even if we did behave in the same manner, we could do so more diplomatically. I feel we are burning bridges all over the world. Cant we all just get along?

I'm so transparent to those who know me. I am so very liberal left. I'm pro choice (which means just what is says, pro choice, not necessarily pro abortion but definitely pro choice). I am for stem cell research. I agree with Angie, we are all alone in this world, George W. has done nothing to endear us to our supposed allies. I could go on & on because I cannot choose just one thing. My children's friends are in Iraq and it makes me ill. What are we thinking? Enough for my soapbox.

            What she said...

Seriously though, I am much more concerned that my husband will be sent to Iraq (W et al) than he will be sued by some evil malpractice lawyer (Edwards). We have too many friends and family members there for this not to be a hot button for me. (We just got pictures from our friend who is the Navy psychiatrist in the desert on his 30th birthday.)

I can't believe the treaties and agreements we have walked away from- Kyoto steams me the most but there are lots more. Also, I am very concerned about the Supreme Court- I don't think that its effective when paralyzed by extremeists from either side. I hope whoever is nominated next will be a TRUE moderate.

Yep, international issues. Although pro-choice comes in as a close second (and usually is my first issue) since I think it has a great impact on women's rights overall than just the issue of whether or not abortion should be illegal.

                    Hey 1Atlantis

I'm so glad you posted. The debates board seems so dead these days!! I am interested in hearing more about the issues regarding immigration. It has not been discussed much in this campaign season. I keep reading that it is a "hot button issue" but haven't heard any real policy positions or discussion. Could you post some pro/con info on some immigration issues?

(I don't have any strong positions on this topic-being so uninformed-so I'm not trying to lure you into any nasty debate or anything. Just a genuine request for information.... )

I would have to pick two...

reinstating the draft (or not hopefully)

                        -and-

                        reforming medical malpractice laws
