Why does man continue to search for a sign rather than just contently follow these teachings? Has is just been too long since biblical times? Do we need affirmation, why? What type of sign would it take for us to stop and listen? I agree the subtle signs are there every day. Has technology rendered these "missable?"

    Just thoughts....
Annie, that was a superb post. Very thought-provoking questions that are worthy of an answer!

I think that we often think that we would believe if we could just see something plainly in front of our noses but I think that reality proves otherwise. For those of us who are Christian, we believe that despite performing incredible miracles such as healing lepers, giving sight to the blind, raising a little girl and Lazarus from the dead, etc. Christ was put to death for being feared as dangerous to political stability. I honestly do think there are plenty of "signs" in front of us but they are only useful to those who already have faith IMO. Any "sign" can be explained away by someone unwilling to believe.

And, I completely agree with Matt - it does all boil down to faith.
