FYI - She just got a $500K book deal and will be interviewed by Katie Couric Tuesday evening!
I will be watching, only in hopes of hearing an apology to the countless law enforcement who worked overtime to search for her. As well as some sort of future plan to donate some of the cash from the bookdeal to pay back the $40K + her phony kidnapping cost the taxpayers!

Sounds like she needs to be fined $500K for her crimes....

Now THAT would be poetic justice!

Don't quote me, but I think she was paid some amount ($13K, then a $2K fine and community service) for the cost to law enforcement. I can't believe that it cost only that much. I think her plea deal should have included something along the lines that all profits have to go to a charity -- a missing persons organization is a great idea!

That is just ridiculous. But you know her book will sell.

That is outrageous...Seriously, in cases where you end up being convicted of a crime, you shouldn't be able to go out and sell a book about it and then profit! That is just ridiculous!!!!

Oops...I meant that she paid around $13K plus the additional fine not that it was paid to her. Again, how could all that have cost only $13,000?
