I'm posting this in "Debates" to avoid the inevitable calls for it to be moved later.

Not that I'm actually posting a debate topic.

    1. Go to http://www.google.com

    2. Type in the word "failure" without the quotation remarks.

    3. Click on "I'm Feeling Lucky" instead of "GoogleSearch"

    4. See the truth

Yeah, it's pretty pathetic that Google is not taking steps to correct that situation. If it were me, I'd have a lawyer look into suing them for libel.

Incidently, the #2 site that comes up under a google search for "failure" is Michael Moore's website. I'd sue for libel if I were him as well.

Smears like this are just wrong no matter who they target. It's better to examine reality and come to a conclusion rather than just vent hatred.

I saw the one for Michael Moore also! Well, I doubt that that type of smear is really that effective is it? I can't imagine somebody choosing a candidate based on a prank they saw on a search engine.

Google is not listing it that way itself, so no legal action would be effective. It is a clever use of the way google ranks web sites. You can with enough effort get things listed first. Google ranks sites by the numbers of links to them with refering words. What has happened is a group of people have gotten together and used google's system to get it ranked first.

              funny if you ask me.

should be first if you search for "lowest presidential IQ ever."

It's called a Google bomb. Google didn't have anything to do with it.

The original meme was "Miserable Failure", and it went around prior to the 2004 election I believe.

Also try "French military victories" -- remember to hit "I'm Feeling Lucky".
