  • White House Response to Libby's Indictment

I really felt the White House response to Libby's indictment was inappropriate. I felt there should be more outrage (towards Libby), rather than the "sadness" expressed by Bush, or the character reference provided by Cheney. I realize that Libby is innocent until proven guilty, but I don't think that the White House should have sounded so supportive of him. It's not as though they were saying they were sure he would be exonerated or that he was wrongly accused. It seemed to me that they were more disappointed that the investigation had gotten this far.

    What do you think?

Yeah, you kind of have to expect the "he's a loyal servant. blah, blah, blah." Must suck to be the number 2 guy where you know you will take the fall but I guess he signed up for it. Other than that, response is pretty similar to Clinton -- I have lots of work to do and will keep doing it.

Yeah, I guess they probably do know they will be the "sacrificial lamb" should any controversies arise.
