    some Indians would say this is a huge curse. daughters are considered a burden, not a blessing ... and 4 at once! I'm going to guess that this is a wealthier family, considering the access to good prenatal care she must have had to carry that many babies safely.

        You actually read it wrong ... it's Aapthi. I tried to find the meaning, but couldn't. The only reference I found is that it may actually be a masculine name.



        DH actually had an Aunt that died as a child. Her name was Bubbli ... and she died in a vat of boiling milk. Horrific and sad, but again, interesting how the English version of the name means something related and humorous.

          It always amazes me how differant we are from culture to culture. What is considered good or bad. Et al.

              That's very tragic about your dh's aunt and yet I had to stifle a chuckle at the irony of her name. I will be going to hell as well for finding any humor in that...
              We've got some crazy-ass names in dh's family! I'm sure over in the Philippines it sounds normal but no so much over here.
