  • I feel myself swinging

Anyone watching Larry King on CNN (otherwise referred to as the communist news network by dh--is that even original? ) . He has all the women senators on.

I have to say the first time I registered and voted was this last election...I went with W. (Please dont hate me). Im pretty much sure I will be swinging the other way this next time around.

I feel like I *get* it more with the dems, than with the republicans. Altho...Im VERY conservative with other things. Uggg! I just dont know!

So, what catagory do I fall into? Maybe there should be a canidate that runs on the "conservative democrat" ticket. Why cant there be such a thing??? I need to pay more attention to politics, I guess. Dh is gonna have a COW if I go the other way.

p.s. Jenn, I see your not so secret love is looking a wee bit tired tonight. Maybe the bus should pick her up and take her to a spa for the weekend. Get some cucumbers on those eyes.

I think most people are more comfortable in the middle, myself. Very few are hard left or hard right. Somewhere along the way the middle ground became the land of the "wishy-washy" or fence sitters. Phht! I'm all about getting to the middle.

I hope a lot of people swing this time. I hope we get some good candidates, too.

Really, My Hillary needs me? I'll go to the Aveda store in Georgetown and see what I can come up with for her.

I'm seriously mostly in the middle, too. I think the problem is that most of us are in the middle but the parties are run by extremists who force people to take sides because in the big scheme of things, there aren't that many differences.

and really, give one or two of us medical spouses the Federal Budget and we'll prioritize it, have it balanced and have a spend down plan to pay off the debt faster than any GAO employee. Dear God- we actually know brain surgeons, some of us are actually MARRIED to brain surgeons. Balancing the Federal Budget is NOT brain surgery, or the tougher specialty, brain surgeon spouse.

Everyone has hot button issues. (no, really you say?) but I would bet 90% of us would agree on 80% of life.

        J.

PS- I don't hate people who voted for W. I hate people who didn't vote and then sit around and bitch about it.

          swing on sister!

Give the budget to Nellie - she'll whip it into shape. She's amazing with all that stuff.

Agreed - the peeps who didn't vote and then complain are the worst. The problem is that the pickins are slim in both parties.

I feel misled by the subject line. And now a little disappointed.

Socially liberal and fiscally conservative. It's tough to find a major party to associate with. Libertarian?

I hear you. I am pretty much socially liberal and fiscally conservative as well.

I feel that I am socially liberal (i.e. I am pro-choice, ok with civil unions/ gay marriage), but I also feel like the US is doing the right thing in Iraq/Afganistan and wish we could reign in spending much more. Does that make me conservative? I seem to vote for issues that affect my life on a dialy basis... and that seems to be taxes and fighting terrorism.

While I don't hate ppl who voted for W, I do think that it's kind of weird to hear those who voted for him in 2004 complain about the current situation.
I mean, it's one thing to say that you didn't know what he was doing in Texas prior to the 2000 elections, but for 4 years he showed what he was all about, and for those 51% of ppl who still voted for him, I say you can't really complain when he carries on business as usual.
I'm fed up and I'm not gonna take it anymore.

I'll agree with that but what bugs me more is people who didn't vote AT ALL and still bitch about it. More people vote for American Idol than vote for the leader of the free world.

maybe that's how we should do the next election, american idol style. We can all vote via cell phone.

                            My sentiments exactly!

I find myself in the middle a lot too. I always vote, but it seems like I am always trying to pick the lesser of two evils. It would be novel to actually vote for someone that I find compelling.
