i have been so interested in this story. when ever anderson cooper has specials on him, dh just , but i cant help to watch. personally i think this guy is a total freak. he holds such a strong power over his followers. i really have no problem if people want to practice polygomy...if gay marriage can be legal so should polygamy. what i have a problem with is the underage marriage, the child abuse and the sexual abuse. do you know that when infants cry (newborns too) they are held under water to stop them from crying. noone is to show weakness. boys are booted out and left to fend for themselves at a young age....this way they dont "compete" for wives with the older male followers. if a boy is caught looking at a girl, has feelings for, or kissing, they are thrown out of the compound. i could go on and on....but i'll spare you. im just glad they found this guy...finally!

There's a really good book by Jon Krakauer about this stuff.
"Under the Banner of Heaven"
It's pretty horrifying

I only made it about 3/4 of the way through the book. It was just too stomach-turning to continue through. And the murder description in the opening chapter just kept rolling through my head. I can handle awful stories about adults (usually) but not infants.

I love Jon Krakauer though -- I've read all his other books.
