  • John Kerry

Let's do it again....I don't know what happened to the old thread about him!

Personally, I think his comments were idiotic but felt that in the context of what he was saying he was criticizing Bush....ie "If you go to college and study you'll be successful...if not, you'll take the country into war and get our young men/women stuck in Iraq".

He never was funny...never was good at talking....and I think they should just let it go.

But hey...maybe he can just check into rehab or something...then the republicans would forgive him. :>

He should know better than to try to joke. The man doesn't have that kind of personality. You'd think he would have learned that on the campaign trail.

It's also ridiculous the amount of play that it got- I think it's finally going away but holy moly- we have a lot more to talk about than one idiot putting his foot in his mouth again. (much like the Cheney waterboarding comment- you know he meant what he meant- you can't force the man to say what he didn't say so MOVE ON people)

The media is just crazy.....note though that you don't here the dems screaming about the conservative media on this one. It reminds me of the whole "Dean Scream" thing. They intentionally took Dean down. I watched his whole speech and his voice just cracked at the end ...but they played it again and again and implied he'd lost his mind.

I couldn't find the exact quote, but it didn't sound to me like he was just criticizing the President, especially knowing his "history" with wartime "opinions" if you will. He is extremely distasteful.

People may not like Bush, but by God, we are lucky Kerry wasn't elected. That whole family revolts me.

I won't go that far ... but he's not my favorite either.

ITA - Kerry needs to not attempt to be funny. The text of his prepared remarks clearly shows that he was trying to jab at Bush, what he let fall out of his mouth - not so much. He should have apologized right away so it could die down more quickly. If he's managed to screw up the first opportunity in eons for the Dems to take things back ...

At least I hope this is the nail in the coffin of him considering another run ...

Yep, I think his presidential aspirations are now over - Hillary made a comment last night that I thought was pretty funny, he's done.

But he's still a moron for even saying it.

                      Okay, I had posted....

I am sure he did not mean it that way...but....on another note...

My understanding is the more education you have...the less likley you will be in the military..

I am so for the draft...if just to make people think twice about sending their kids somewhere.

Largely b/c the military promises to pay for your education, so many people choose to join as a means to an end.

Yup, I have a few students right now who are in the ROTC program and love it. They would otherwise not be able to pay for school.
