  • what do you have monogrammed????

I just opened an online custom monogramming store on eBay (see the link in my profile)

I am looking for ideas to expand the business. What do you get monogrammed for yourself or others? I am always browsing for ideas. Most of the time stocking my "store" is an issue of finding a supplier. I can't buy from a real wholesaler until I have a business license (no point in getting one in TN for just 2 more months - I do plan to get one in OH, though.)

Hopefully this will bring in at least enough $$$ to pay the kids' tuition.

    Thanks for your ideas!!!!

I think that the only thing we have monogrammed is a really nice crystal platter that we received as a wedding present.

Oh, I got some silver cuff links for DH. I think those were hard to find at the time (4 years ago maybe?).

Do you do tie tacs? For some reason, DH wants a tie tac.......

Thanks for the feedback. I guess I should have stated that I do sewn, needle & thread monograms on a monogram machine, like towels, bags, pillowcases, shirts, etc. I can't etch a monogram into something

Can I get swim goggles monogramed?

I think my kids would like their name or initials on a beach towel, pillowcase (especially one of those smaller lovey pillows), blanket. I'll keep thinking.

OK so the first time I glanced at this title, I thought "What other than Breasts do you get mammogrammed??"

We don't have any monogrammed yet, but I think at some point we might do something or other (once we stop buying everything in IKEA and Target). I was in a bridalparty recently and we all got monogrammed terry slippers as part of our present.

I've seen men with their names and initals monogramed on their work shirts. Not sure if they send the shirts out seperatly to be monogramed or if their shirts are tailor made and monogramed then. You might want to look into working with a tailor as an outsource monogrammer. We have nothing mongramed and doubt I ever will. However, I think the towels and pillow cases for kids are a cute idea. You could also monogram the cloth for crib bumpers and other like items.

Dog stuff. Sadly, I'd be quicker to buy a monogrammed pillow for my dog than something for myself. Leashes, collars, dog t-shirts, beds, toys, etc.

I have some towels monogrammed for my girls, and a dress for one of them. I routinely give mongrammed bibs and burp cloths as baby gifts. I like the website etsy.com for that stuff.

I'm going to be adding pillowcase dresses and a-line dresses after a little more practice.

I have thought about doing some things for pets. In fact, I made a doggie bandana with our dog's name and phone number (actually MY phone # ) monogrammed on it but it didn't fare well in the product testing phase...I didn't like it rolling up.

Diaper covers and handkerchiefs have been my biggest sellers, and that's great b/c I don't have to sew anything for those - just monogram. I thought beach towels and bags would sell well, but I haven't sold a single one yet.

                    Thanks for the ideas!

come to think of it - that's my only monogrammed item (that I purchased). One of those tote bags from Land's End or LL Bean w/our last name on it.

My MIL likes to "monogram" all sorts of stuff for us. She has one of those fancy sewing machines and puts the boys names on everything. When Jacob was little she even did a huge "J" in the upper left corner of a onesie for him. He looked like Laverne from Laverne & Shirley.

I think of Laverne & Shirley every time I ALMOST put a B on Brennan's shirts. It stops me every time!

We have Petey's name on his dog bed. We have rec'd towels with our respective initials on them. I have a robe from my mom with my initials on it because she got tired of my wearing the one she got me with my former names initials on it.

I have a sterling silver disk with a "J" on it that I bought myself for an anniversary present one year.

All of my sterling silver bracelets have my initials on them (on the inside)

I have purchased sterling silver flatware that are engraved with someone else's initials. (yes, I have sterling flatware. service for 12)

I started having DH's shirts monogrammed. You can either have it done by the store or take it out to have it done. I don't know how popular this is in the US though.

Oh, I forgot we have had various doctor's coats done over the years- I have to say that the quality of the coats stunk though. (allheart.com FYI)
