  • Job Search

Well, I definitely have Short-Timers here. I am already starting to prepare for the job search, except that I have no idea where we are going! I know I'll be able to find a similar position in a large metropolitan area but if we are sent to Podunk- I'm screwed.

So, I'm taking the Teacher Training for yoga, but there's no way I'll be able to make what I'm making now. UGH.

Anyway, nine more months here...hurray! (and hurry!) I have never worked anywhere longer than 2 and a half years- so this is making me nuts. (luckily it's no only accepted, it expected in my field!)

Oh well, just wanted to vent.

    short-timers...

    I've never heard that expression!

Jenn, you sound like you have burn-out! It must be hard to work with people every day who have such challenging emotional issues. I can imagine that it is draining work...which is likely why social workers have a high burnout rate? I'm sure that you are very good at what you do and that you put a lot of yourself into it...

A yoga instructor? That sounds fun! Maybe if you end up in podunk, it will give you a chance to reinvent yourself or explore some other parts of who you are....and then you'll have a chance to move your life in a different direction if you want.
