  • Nurses- is this a rip or is it just me?

I am applying for my new license. First I just apply for the RN license, then when I get it, I apply for the NP license.

I have had licenses in OK, CA, NY, FL and GA. All are expired except for one. The license verification fee is:
    CA-$60
    GA$25
    FL-$25
    OK-$40
    NY$25

    for a total of $175.

The cost of the RN license is only $48 but the freaking license verification fees are ridiculous to me, I mean $60 to fill out a piece of paper saying, yes she had a license here a long time ago. You can check online in a matter of seconds. I hope I dont have to do license verifications again for the NP one.

Ugh. That IS expensive! Why do they need that information anyway...to make sure you're not having discipline issues??

I wonder if I paid a verification fee as well...hmmm...

I just renewed my license - almost $100! I wish that my job paid for it since they require it and all!

My yearly licensure cost is more than $300. Before all the mandatory yearly CLE costs. I hear your pain.
