  • Creative or stupid...

So, I found a complete dream job on Friday. It's as the Executive Director for a small non-profit that teaches inner city kids cooking skills. It gives them job skills, and self-confidence etc. In the ad it lists all of the normal crap that an exec does (it's all the same- budgets and fundraising, staff hiring and supervision!) and then listed "additional qualifications" which were things like being passionate about your job, creative and love food. So I wrote in my cover letter that it was hard to demonstrate creativity with a cover letter and resume, that it was difficult to show passion with white paper- but that I could show that I loved food- so I made "Cherry Garcia" cookies and send them wrapped in a gladware container with multicolored tissue paper and placed my cover letter and resume on top in a plain white envelope. I figured if they want creative and risktaking- they'll like it. If they want subdued and conservative- I'm not their girl anyway-

so- what do you all think?

I think for a job where they need someone who's both professional and creative, it does a good job of showing both sides.

    Hope you get the job!
