  • Malpractice Cost Information

    Hi Folks,

I didnt know where to post this so I hope this is an ok area... Does anyone know of any web sites that offer information on what the costs are for malpractice insurance for different states specifically for Anesthesiologists?

I wanted to find out what are the best states to work in in terms of malpractice rates. If anybody has any sites that have this information can you please email me at filip@webpagecreation.org

    Thanks!

I don't have information about Anesthesiology, per se, but the crisis states seem to be a problem for all specialties. My husband is Family Practice, so he's on the lower end of the spectrum, and I'm assuming you'd be on the high end of the lawsuit scale.

States in crisis regarding malpractice insurance:

    Washington
    Oregon
    Nevada
    Texas
    Mississippi
    Georgia
    Florida
    Ohio
    West Virginia
    Pennsylvania
    New York
    New Jersey

3 states have passed legislation limiting premiums:

    Indiana
    Louisiana
    Wisconsin

That's the good news for Wisconsin. The bad news is that it's the 4th highest-taxed state in the country!

    1. New York
    2. Maine
    3. Alaska
    4. Wisconsin

Lots of factors to consider. Good luck with your search!
