  • Infant Ministry

I just wanted to share my good news with everyone! I have been working at our church as the childcare director, but just yesterday I was asked if I would become the new infant ministry director. We go to a very large church, so this means many, many infants. I am very excited about this job. Essentially I will be responsible for the childcare the infants, and the nursery. I will also being doing hospital visits to mothers who have just given birth, or to babies who are hospitalized. I will be doing this job in addition to the church childcare director. That means that I am now full time and elgible for benefits. The new job that I accepted is also a better paying position. I am so excited!

    Congratulations!
That sounds like a neat job. I think visiting hospitalized babies is especially important--our youngest has been in the hospital twice and it was such a stressful experience for us.

      Congrats!

It just goes to show that we all end up where we belong. I don't know how anyone can do your job! You childcare professionals (and I include all moms and dads in that!) blow my mind. One of my very good friends volunteers for the child care room at her church once a month, and she loves it.

      You all amaze me!

That sounds like a really cool job, and one which there's no way you'd know you'd be doing until you're actually there ("what do you want to do when you grow up?" "oh, I'm going to be an infant minister")
btw, when I saw the subject of this, I thought "infant ministry" was a new heavy metal band.

Congrats on the new job! (I also thought maybe that was the name of a band!) Good luck with it.

Congratulations -- I know the benefits and the full-time status will be nice for you! I have done a lot of child care, and have had three kids of my own, but the infant stage is NOT my favorite -- so my hat is off to you! It takes a very special person to do your job.

Thanks for the encouragement! I am sorry I led you into thinking that I was joining some cool rock band ! I am very excited about the job. No, this is not something that thought about doing when I was growing up, but now that I am here it is really cool. Full time status will be great, but I am also still full time school. That means that I am going to double busy for the next year ! But, the job was offered to me, and the pay was pretty good, so I could not turn it down. It probably would not still be available if I waited until I graduate. Any how, keep me in your prayers for the next year because things are going to be getting extremely busy!

Congratulations, Lauren! I have a similar position (calling) in my church to the one you had and the one you just obtained (although unpaid - we're a volunteer-only church). It is a time consuming job but the benefits are priceless. Again, congrats!!!
