  • Who wants to make their medical spouse a medical spouse?

I'm a doctor's wife who wants her spouse to be a doctor's husband. Someone mentioned on my intro that there are a few of us here on the board. Thankfully, my husband is completely supportive of me in this endeavor - even knowing what we'll have to go through to get there. He truly believes that we can "have it all." (I have my doubts about this last part.) I truly wish that I wanted to be a sahm, it would certainly save me a lot of trouble. But, I've been dreaming about becoming a physician for many years now. I am currently re-taking my med school pre-reqs and (finally) finishing up my bachelor's.

This path is so plagued with doubts.

First, good luck in this path, you certainly know exactly what your headed for!

Most of the women in my husband's residency class are married to fellow physicians. Although it was tough on them, especially during internship year, they have all survived.

Go for it! and let us know your progress.

        I'm doing it!

I'm actually going to be the DR first. I'm a second year vet student and he's a first year med student. It's been hard so far. We're both still adjusting...for as long as we've known each other we've been together almost 24/7 and now we're apart a lot because of studying, and meetings and everything.

We've known each other 11 years and now have been married for 5 days!
